Working in Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton combines dense Victorian terraces near the centre with larger period villas in Tettenhall and Penn, inter-war and post-war estates across the rest of the city, and a lot of commercial property along the ring road and M54 corridor.
In Wolverhampton many properties front directly onto the pavement, so scaffolds often need a licence from City of Wolverhampton Council, plus lighting and pedestrian protection. Wolverhampton work spans terraced streets needing pavement licences from the City Council to large villas and commercial buildings needing taller scaffolds.
In Wolverhampton (WV1 to WV11), City of Wolverhampton Council handles both planning applications and highways matters such as scaffold licences, skips on the road and dropped kerbs. Our yard at Kimberley Business Park is about twenty miles from our yard via Cannock.
How we work
Clear communication matters: you will know when the scaffold is going up, who to call if it needs altering and when it will come down. Our own fleet means that if a programme changes, we can usually move with it.
Before erecting anything we look at the ground, the building, any overhead cables and how the scaffold will be used, then agree the layout, number of lifts and loading requirements with you. Scaffolds are inspected and handed over in writing, and we come back to adapt them as the job progresses.
