Staff4dshire Roofing Specialists: frequently asked questions
Do you do roof repairs as well as new roofs?
Yes. We carry out repairs to slipped tiles, leaks, ridges, verges, chimneys and flat roofs, as well as full re-roofs and new-build roofs.
Which flat roof system is best?
EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass and torch-on mineral felt all work well when installed properly. The right choice depends on the roof's size, detailing, use and budget, and we explain the options before you decide.
Do you work on listed and period buildings?
Yes. We carry out traditional and conservation roofing with natural slate, clay tiles and lime mortar. Check consent requirements with your local planning authority for listed buildings.
Do you do leadwork?
Yes. We are lead specialists: step, cover and apron flashings, chimney back gutters, valleys, bays, dormers and small lead roofs.
Can you replace my soffits, fascias and guttering?
Yes. We supply and install uPVC soffits, fascias, bargeboards, gutters and downpipes.
What is the difference between dry and wet verge?
Wet verges and ridges are bedded in mortar; dry verge and dry ridge systems are mechanically fixed and need little maintenance. We install both, depending on the roof and the look you want.
Do I need scaffolding?
Most re-roofs, chimney work and longer jobs need scaffold. Ours is provided in-house by Staff4dshire Scaffolding.
Which areas do you cover?
Rugeley, Lichfield, Cannock, Stafford, Burntwood, Hednesford, Stone, Uttoxeter, Tamworth, Burton upon Trent, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield and surrounding villages.
