Working in Stafford
Stafford is the county town, with a historic core around the Ancient High House and Greengate Street, streets of Victorian terraces off the Lichfield and Newport Roads, and larger estates and new developments at Wildwood, Baswich and Burleyfields.
In Stafford town centre, scaffolds often go up against shops and listed frontages on busy streets, while out on the estates it is mostly roofing and extension work. In Stafford town centre scaffolds often front busy shopping streets, and homes on the larger estates usually need two-lift scaffolds for re-roofs and solar.
For Stafford (ST16, ST17 and ST18), planning applications are handled by Stafford Borough Council, and highways matters such as scaffold licences, skips on the road and dropped kerbs by Staffordshire County Council. Our yard at Kimberley Business Park is around ten miles from Rugeley along the A513 and A51.
How we work
Before erecting anything we look at the ground, the building, any overhead cables and how the scaffold will be used, then agree the layout, number of lifts and loading requirements with you. Scaffolds are inspected and handed over in writing, and we come back to adapt them as the job progresses.
We work for both housing and commercial clients, which means we are used to tight sites, live roads, neighbouring properties and busy programmes. The same team often scaffolds for Staff4dshire Roofing Specialists and Margav Energy, so we understand what roofers and solar installers need from their access.
